Rob Heaney has been a mainstay of the Montreal recording industry for over 25 years. He's tracked, mixed and produced music of all genres, from independent artists to major labels, collecting multiple gold and platinum records along the way.
In addition to albums, he's engineered and mixed scores for more than 50 films, documentaries and television productions, working with many critically acclaimed composers including James Gelfand and Benoit Jutras. He recorded live shows and studio sessions for albums and cinema, with orchestras and choirs in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, Prague, Budapest, Rome and London.
Creativity, innovation, experience and dedication have led Rob to remain at the helm as primary engineer for the Cirque du Soleil since 1994. As well as mixing the Grammy award nominated "Alegria", he mixed many of the Cirque's most successful albums including "Kurios: Cabinet Des Curiosities", "Amaluna", Corteo", "Kooza", "Mystere" "O" and "Totem".
Rob engineered and mixed more than 60 recordings with artists including Patrick Watson, Elsiane, The Franklin Electric, Rob Lutes, Ray Bonneville, Isabelle Boulay, Kevin Parent and toured Europe and the U.S. for 15 years as FOH mixer for Kate and Anna McGarrigle.
A Juno nominee, he has 12 ADISQ nominations, is a six time recipient of the ADISQ "Engineer of the Year" award and earned a "Creative Excellence" award from Scotch 3M.
