Rob Heaney has been a mainstay of the Montreal recording industry for over 25 years. He's tracked, mixed and produced music of all genres, from independent artists to major labels, collecting 3 Gold, 6 Platinum records and 1 Triple Platinum record. 

In addition to music recordings, he engineered and mixed scores for more than 50 television productions, documentaries and theatrical features, working with many critically acclaimed composers, including James Gelfand and Benoit Jutras. He recorded live shows and studio sessions for CD, DVDs and cinema, with orchestras and choirs in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, Prague, Budapest, Serbia, Rome, and London.

A Juno nominee, he has 12 ADISQ nominations, is a six time recipient of the ADISQ "Engineer of the Year" award, and earned a "Creative Excellence" award from Scotch 3M, among many other industry citations. 

Creativity, innovation, experience and dedication have led Rob to remain at the helm as primary engineer for the Cirque du Soleil since 1994. As well as mixing the Grammy award nominated "Alegria", he mixed many of the Cirque's most successful CDs and DVDs and engineered, mixed and produced the original music for the 2012 3D feature "Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away".

Rob engineered and mixed more than 60 recordings with artists including Patrick Watson, Elsiane, The Franklin Electric, Rob Lutes, Ray Bonneville, Isabelle Boulay, Kevin Parent, Roch Voisine, Bet E & Stef and Nanette Workman. He toured Europe and the U.S.for fifteen years as FOH mixer for Kate and Anna McGarrigle. 
 
Rob believes that every project is a unique expression of indviduality and should be a musical happening, realizing the artist's vision.

Leonard Cohen Tribute 

I  had the opportunity to do additional mixing with my friend and partner in crime, Denis Normandeau for the Leonard Cohen Tribute Concert -Tower of Song, with performances by Sting, Elvis Costello, k.d.lang, Damien Rice, Patrick Watson and many others. A truly amazing night.

Rufus Wainwright 

Recorded the Rufus Show in Montreal for a new live album.  Amazing musicians! Got a little nostalgic, especially when Anna McGarrigle joined in. Loved touring with the McGarrigle sisters. 

Strings in Seattle 

Tracked strings in the summer with the Seattle Symphony for a project for Universal with Benoit Jutras. Was great fun, I love Seattle!
